The school is maintained by Caerphilly County Borough Council, Director of Education and Leisure Mrs S Aspinall. (Tel: 01443 815588).

Control is exercised by Governors who include representatives of the local education authority, parents, teaching staff and the local community.
Welcome back to our final term of this academic year!
We wish to welcome Mrs K. Bishop who has taken over the Nursery teacher post and has become part of our existing Nursery team. Our thanks to Mrs Jones who worked alongside our Nursery team before the Easter holidays, and we wish her well in her future career.
Pupil news: Congratulations and a very big WELL DONE to Jessie T, Beth J, Mia J and Jessica M who starred in the Blackwood Musical Society’s production of ‘Annie’ over the Easter period. It was a great success and we are very proud of their achievements treading the boards!
School news: Our car park extension took place during the Easter holidays, and WOW what a difference it has made to the school! The car park has an additional 11 car parking bays for staff and visitors. It also has a delivery bay and turning area for large delivery and refuse vehicles, which has reduced the issue of vehicles reversing on site. Please note the car park is for staff and official visitors to the school, and parents are not to drive onto the school site.
Queen’s Jubilee celebration: FRIDAY 1st JUNE- RED, WHITE and BLUE DAY.
Children will be encouraged to wear red, white, and blue colours to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee. Caerphilly Catering Services will be putting on a celebratory party food menu instead of the usual Friday menu choice. School will be decorating the hall, laying out tables in the style of a street party, and making Union Jack flags to decorate their tables. Please ensure you book your child in for the party food option, complete the slip at the bottom of this newsletter, and enclose in £1.80 per child. Party food will include filled roll, sausage/veggie roll, cocktail /veggie sausages, chicken/veggie bites, cheese puffs, jam sponge, jelly and fruit juice or water.

Battery Recycling
As part of our commitment to being a ‘green school’ we are taking part in a Caerphilly initiative to recycle old batteries. We accept any type of battery, so search through that kitchen ‘knick-knack’ drawer, bag them up and send them into us.
Free Range Eggs
Parents and Grandparents can make a donation for the free range eggs at a suggestion of £1 for 4. (Supermarkets £1.70 - £1.99 for 6). If you wish to send in £1 for 4 free range eggs we will make a list of donators and will work our way through the list as the eggs are freshly laid. The Eco Committee and a selection of children will take part in the egg collection and looking after the welfare of the hens. Some of the children asked if the eggs will hatch? We DO NOT have a cockerel with the hens so eggs will NOT develop into chicks!
